Built to make data, software and AI easier to reach.

Salience was founded to close the gap between what modern technology can now do and what large organisations can realistically deploy.

Technology is moving faster than enterprise systems, procurement and transformation can keep up with. Salience was created to make that route shorter.

Large organisations often know that better tools should now be possible, but the route from idea to working capability is still too slow, expensive and complicated.

Not another software platform to adapt around. Not another report describing what should happen. A practical way to turn modern software, data and AI into something useful.

What we believe

Useful beats impressive

Technology should solve a real problem, not merely demonstrate technical possibility.

Start with the decision

The decisions you need to make shape the data we examine, the analysis we do and the tools we build.

Capability should outlast the engagement

Clients should retain something valuable, usable and understandable when the work is complete.

Founded and led by Nik Ironside-Wood

Salience combines management advice with data and software to help leaders understand what is happening in their organisation, why it matters and where to act.

Nik Ironside-WoodFounder

Its founder, Nik Ironside-Wood, has 20 years' experience across financial modelling, business intelligence and operational leadership. He started his career building financial models in Excel and VBA before moving into designing services and running large support-services operations.

His roles have included Solution Design Director at AstraZeneca, Business Development Director at Sodexo and COO of International Consulting at Serco. At Ferrovial, he was Business Intelligence Director and Head of Operational Efficiency for its Global Centre of Excellence.

That experience shapes Salience's approach to management intelligence. We start with the decisions leaders need to make, then bring together the data, analysis and bespoke tools to support them. Understanding the operation matters as much as building the technology.

How Salience is set up

Nik leads each engagement and brings in specialists when the work needs additional expertise, including data scientists, software engineers, designers and consultants. You work directly with Nik, and he remains responsible for the engagement when others are involved.

Salience
the quality of being most important or noticeable

Most organisations are surrounded by information. Our purpose is to surface what matters and build the tools that keep it visible.

What matters, made visible.

Bring us the problem, opportunity or question your current systems cannot answer.

A first conversation is usually enough to establish whether the opportunity suits a focused commission, a prototype or a longer-term product partnership.
